At The Mechanics Conference Centre, we're proud to welcome you to a piece of Manchester history where important meetings have taken place since 1824. Our Grade II* listed building has witnessed the formation of the British Trades Union Congress and the Co-operative Insurance Society, and today we continue that tradition by hosting your important business gatherings. We offer eight distinct meeting rooms across our historic venue, each with its own character. Our Large Hall serves as the centerpiece for bigger conferences, comfortably seating 180 delegates theatre-style or 120 in cabaret arrangement. For more intimate board meetings or workshops, we have smaller rooms that work perfectly for groups of 6 to 20 people. The Congress Room particularly captures the atmosphere of 1868, complete with original architectural details that remind visitors of the significant decisions made within these walls. Walking through our building, you'll notice the stunning stained glass windows casting colored light across the original wooden floors, and our impressive spiral stone staircase connecting the different levels. These aren't just decorative features - they create an inspiring backdrop for productive meetings and memorable conferences. Our fully licensed bar means we can serve refreshments throughout your event, from morning coffee to evening drinks receptions. We prepare all our buffet options on-site, offering everything from working lunches to more substantial spreads for all-day conferences.
