About Old English Inns - Cock Hotel
We're part of Stony Stratford's history here at The Cock Hotel - our building has welcomed travelers since the 15th century when we served as the official staging post for the Manchester Flier. Today, we continue that tradition of hospitality in our scenic market town, just 10 minutes from Milton Keynes with easy access from the M1 and A5. Our 30 guest rooms have all been recently refurbished, and while we've kept the original character of the coaching inn, we've added the comforts you need - each en-suite room has a flat-screen TV, free Wi-Fi, and tea and coffee facilities. We think the blend of period features and modern touches works beautifully throughout the building. For weddings and meetings, we have two function rooms that transform depending on what you need. We can accommodate up to 100 guests for wedding ceremonies or 150 for receptions, and our team helps coordinate everything from intimate gatherings to larger celebrations. The courtyard garden becomes magical for summer weddings, and many couples choose to have their drinks reception outside. In our bar and restaurant, we serve proper pub food - hearty classics, steaks cooked to order, and seasonal dishes that change with what's fresh. We keep a good selection of real ales on tap, alongside wines and premium lagers. When the weather's nice, the courtyard garden fills up with diners enjoying their meals outside. We're proud to be dog-friendly too - your four-legged friends are welcome, and we keep water bowls and treats ready for them. Being so close to Milton Keynes means our guests can easily explore Bletchley Park, catch events at Silverstone, or pop into town for shopping, but many tell us they prefer the quieter pace of Stony Stratford's historic streets.
