About Speedboat Bar
Turn the corner onto Rupert Street and you'll spot our neon-lit entrance glowing against the Soho skyline. We're Speedboat Bar, and we've transformed this corner of London into a slice of Bangkok's Chinatown, complete with the sounds of Muay Thai commentary drifting from our three large screens and the crack of pool balls from our central table. Our ground floor buzzes with energy as groups gather around the bar, ordering towers of ice-cold Singha beer and our signature whiskey sodas. The kitchen sends out plates of pad kra pao and som tam that fill the space with the smell of Thai basil and fresh chili. We keep the Thai rock and pop pumping through the speakers, creating the same atmosphere you'd find in Bangkok's late-night street food spots. Upstairs, we've built what feels like a speedboat racers' clubhouse – complete with racing memorabilia and room for 50 of your closest friends. This space works brilliantly for birthday parties, leaving dos, or any celebration where you want your own private Bangkok hideaway. Groups love having the pool table to themselves up here while still catching the speedboat racing and Sepak Takraw matches on the screens. We open our doors for Happy Hour at 3pm, when cocktails and beers drop in price, and the party keeps going until 1am on Fridays and Saturdays. Our menu spans from fiery jungle curries to cooling seafood salads, with plenty of vegetarian options mixed in. The drunken noodles have become legendary among our regulars – perfectly spiced and ideal for soaking up those whiskey sodas.
