Every week at The Actress & Bishop, we watch Birmingham's music scene come alive on our stage. From indie bands testing new material to touring acts stopping by on their UK circuits, our pub at 36 Ludgate Hill in the Jewellery Quarter has become the kind of place where memorable nights just happen. Our upstairs function room transforms into whatever your party needs it to be. With space for 100 seated or 175 standing guests, we've hosted everything from 30th birthday celebrations with live bands to Christmas parties that went on until 2am. The room comes with our full PA and AV setup, plus a dedicated bar just for your group. We keep the high-speed Wi-Fi running strong (because we know someone always needs to livestream the best bits), and our team can arrange DJs or live entertainment if you want to turn things up a notch. Downstairs, our main bar buzzes with regular gigs throughout the week. The ground floor space welcomes everyone with level access and disabled facilities, while our spacious terrace gives you somewhere to catch up between sets. When the weather cooperates, that outdoor decking becomes the best spot in the Quarter for pre-party drinks. We sort out the catering to match your plans - from simple tea and coffee setups for afternoon gatherings to proper buffets that keep everyone going through the night. Our kitchen team works with different budgets and dietary needs, because we've learned that good food keeps a party rolling. Getting here couldn't be easier. We're five minutes from Snow Hill station and about 15 from New Street. Street parking is free after 6pm, and we're open until 2am most nights (2:30am Fridays and Saturdays when things really get going).
