We're The Albany on Great Portland Street, where our traditional London pub meets something a bit different underneath. Just moments from the Underground station at 240 Great Portland Street, we've been serving seasonal British food and top-drawer drinks to locals and visitors who appreciate the neoclassical features of our building alongside the warmth of a proper pub. Our menu changes with the seasons, focusing on British dishes that our chefs craft with care. Behind the bar, we pour craft beers, fine wines, and cocktails that complement the food perfectly. The upstairs pub provides that authentic atmosphere you'd expect from a traditional London venue, while downstairs reveals something quite different. The Other Place at The Albany, our basement space, regularly transforms into a comedy and music venue. We've equipped it with a proper stage and AV equipment, hosting everything from belly-bursting comedy nights to open mic sessions. This downstairs area accommodates up to 50 seated or 100 standing guests, with its own entrance, bar, and that stage we mentioned - perfect when you need privacy for your event. For dining and parties, we offer flexibility that works for different occasions. Corporate groups book us for after-work drinks and business dinners, while others choose us for birthday celebrations and wedding receptions. You can reserve part of the venue or hire the entire place exclusively - both the traditional pub upstairs and The Other Place below. Recent feedback tells us we're getting it right.
