Victorian windows frame our 23 beer taps at The Dark Horse, where craft beer flows as freely as conversation on any given evening. We've carved out our corner on Alcester Road, right at the edge of Moseley Village, transforming this historic Birmingham building into something that feels both timeless and completely current. Our upstairs event space has hosted everything from 50th birthday bashes to album launches, complete with its own private bar and full sound system that's seen plenty of action. The room fills with natural light during afternoon gatherings, then transforms when the lights dim for evening celebrations. We've watched countless parties unfold here, each one different from the last. Downstairs, our kitchen sends out smash burgers and crispy fried chicken alongside British pub classics that we've given our own spin. Everything's ethically sourced – we work directly with local suppliers who share our values. The bar stretches along one wall, showcasing those 23 draught lines plus shelves lined with cans and bottles from breweries like Attic, GlassHouse, Vault City, and Deya. Our bartenders know their stuff and love nothing more than helping you discover your next favorite brew. Dogs are as welcome as their humans here – we keep water bowls filled and have seen every breed imaginable settle under our tables. When bands take the stage for our regular live music nights, the whole place comes alive. Local acts share bills with touring musicians, creating nights that regulars still talk about months later. We've installed bi-fold windows that open the space up in summer while keeping heat in during winter, part of our ongoing commitment to reducing our environmental impact.
