About The Fox on the Green
The upstairs Victorian dining room at The Fox on the Green catches everyone's eye the moment they climb our original wooden staircase. We've kept all the period features from 1872 when this Grade II listed pub first opened its doors to Islington locals, but we've added our own touches – think quirky artwork mixed with eccentric furniture pieces that get people talking at every party. Our private function space, known as Basil's Bar, sits above the main pub and overlooks Islington Green through those classic Victorian windows. We can accommodate everything from birthday celebrations to corporate gatherings, and the room transforms beautifully whether you're planning a formal dinner or a cocktail party. The space works brilliantly for live music too – we've hosted everything from acoustic sets to full bands up here. Downstairs, the main pub runs like clockwork with eight HD screens for sports fans and our resident DJs spinning tunes every Friday and Saturday from 8pm until 1am. During quieter afternoons, families settle in with our traditional menu while their dogs curl up under the tables (yes, we're completely dog-friendly). Our Cask Marque accreditation means the ales are always spot-on, and we stock plenty of craft beers, fine wines, and artisan spirits for those who prefer something different. The outdoor seating area comes into its own during summer parties, and with free Wi-Fi throughout, your guests can share their night in real-time. We've been part of Islington's community for over 150 years, so we know how to host a proper celebration.
