The wooden tables at Veeno Chester fill up quickly after 5pm, especially when word spreads about our wine tastings paired with proper Italian antipasti. From our spot at 52 Northgate Street, we've been pouring wines straight from the Caruso & Minini vineyard in Sicily - the same vineyard our founders' family has tended for generations. We built this space to feel like stepping into a friend's home in Sicily. Wine bottles line the walls between exposed beams, and the smell of fresh focaccia mingles with aged pecorino as plates travel from our kitchen to tables throughout the bar. Our menu stays true to what you'd find in a Sicilian home - spuntini boards loaded with cured meats and cheeses, panini pressed to order, proper pasta dishes, and pizza that emerges bubbling from our oven. Our "Trip to Sicily" experience remains our most requested event - six carefully chosen wines paired with regional meats and cheeses while we share stories about each vineyard. But we've hosted everything here, from 30th birthday parties that spilled onto our outdoor seating to hen parties sampling prosecco between courses. Corporate groups book our space for networking events where colleagues actually relax, and we've seen more than a few anniversary toasts raised over candlelit tables. Dogs curl up under tables while their owners sip Nero d'Avola, kids nibble on pizza margherita while parents enjoy a proper aperitivo, and our Wi-Fi keeps the remote workers happy during quieter afternoons.
