Every Thursday evening at The Crown and Shuttle, our life drawing classes transform the pub into an unexpected creative space, with easels scattered between the exposed brick walls and mismatched vintage furniture. We're right on Shoreditch High Street at number 226, where the energy of East London flows through our doors daily. Our beer garden catches people by surprise – it's bigger than you'd expect from the street view, filled with plants climbing the walls and those bright painted benches that somehow make even grey London days feel cheerful. During parties, we've seen groups spill out here with their drinks, the outdoor bar keeping glasses full while conversations flow between the greenery. We pour a rotating selection of craft beers that changes with the seasons, plus the usual suspects for those who know what they like. The bartenders genuinely enjoy mixing cocktails here, not just the classics but whatever combination strikes their fancy. Food-wise, our kitchen turns out proper burgers and sharing plates throughout the day, with enough vegan options that nobody feels left out at group events. The space works differently depending on what you need – we've hosted everything from 30th birthday parties that took over the whole pub on a Saturday night to corporate teams booking out sections for their Christmas do. The layout lets groups find their own corner or spread out across the entire venue. We stay open until 1am on Saturdays, midnight on Thursdays and Fridays, giving parties plenty of time to unfold naturally. Our Monday opening at 4pm means we're perfect for those after-work gatherings that need somewhere less formal than a meeting room. The rest of the week we're here from noon, ready for whatever celebration comes through the door.
