Steam drifts across the ancient waters below as your guests gather on the Terrace and Reception Hall, two connected spaces that transform beautifully from intimate dinners to grand celebrations. The Victorians built this terrace specifically to showcase their discovery of the Great Bath, and today we use these arched windows to frame unforgettable moments for up to 200 reception guests. During dinner service, we arrange tables along the Terrace where 130 guests can dine while watching torchlight dance on the thermal waters through those original Victorian windows. Natural light pours through the arches during daytime events, while evening functions take on an almost mystical quality as steam rises from the bath below. We've found this view creates natural conversation starters, guests often pause mid-sentence, captivated by the scene outside. The adjoining Reception Hall opens up your possibilities considerably. That spectacular domed Four Seasons ceiling, complete with intricate detailing and central chandelier, creates the perfect atmosphere once dinner ends and dancing begins. We regularly transform the original oval ticketing desk into a fully equipped bar, its curved design encouraging guests to gather and mingle. The acoustics here were originally engineered for concerts, which means your band or DJ will sound exceptional without overwhelming conversation. The flow between these two spaces works particularly well for weddings and celebrations. Couples often host their drinks reception on the Terrace, letting guests absorb the historic atmosphere, before moving into the Reception Hall for dinner and dancing. Corporate events use the same flexibility differently, perhaps starting with presentations in the Reception Hall before networking drinks on the Terrace. Both spaces come equipped with high-speed internet and professional AV equipment. Our catering partner Searcys works within these historic rooms daily, understanding exactly how to deliver everything from cocktail receptions to formal dinners while respecting the heritage surroundings.
