The Pump Room Georgian chandeliers cast pools of light across the honey-coloured stone columns while the gentle sound of spa water trickling from the historic fountain echoes through this magnificent space. We've been hosting celebrations here since 1795, and the room still carries that same sense of occasion that once drew Jane Austen to take the waters. Our soaring ceilings create an atmosphere of grandeur that photographs beautifully, particularly when filled with the sound of laughter from 300 guests mingling with champagne in hand. The original spa water fountain, still functioning after centuries, becomes a natural conversation piece, especially when we light it subtly for evening events. We can seat up to 180 for dinner, with round tables arranged to encourage conversation while maintaining clear sightlines to our stage area. The acoustics here are remarkable, something we discovered hosting string quartets and jazz bands over the years. Our dimmable lighting system transforms the space from bright afternoon receptions to intimate evening celebrations, with the chandeliers creating particularly stunning effects when dimmed. The polished wooden floor opens up beautifully for dancing, and we've seen some spectacular first dances beneath these historic ceilings. Searcys, our catering partners, know these spaces intimately. They craft menus that complement the Georgian elegance, from delicate canapés served on silver platters to sumptuous three-course dinners. The built-in PA system handles speeches effortlessly, reaching every corner without overwhelming the natural acoustics. Getting here couldn't be simpler, with Bath Spa station just a ten-minute walk through the city centre. The Roman Baths complex sits right in the heart of Bath, surrounded by the shops and restaurants that make pre-event gatherings so convenient for your guests.
