The Shelley Suite welcomes wedding parties through French doors that open onto its private garden, where a white wedding gazebo waits beneath mature trees. We designed this space specifically for celebrations that flow between indoors and out, with room for 90 guests during your wedding breakfast or up to 200 when the evening festivities begin. Your ceremony can take place in the gazebo itself, with the West Sussex countryside stretching beyond our 120-acre estate. The suite's private terrace means your guests can step outside for champagne while you capture photographs against the Jacobean mansion's honey-coloured stone. During winter weddings, we've seen the gardens transform under snow, creating an entirely different but equally romantic atmosphere. Inside the Shelley Suite, floor-to-ceiling windows flood the space with natural light throughout the day. The private bar keeps drinks service smooth during your reception, and our team configures the room layout to match your vision, whether that's long banquet tables for a formal dinner or round tables that encourage conversation between old friends and new family members. Getting here couldn't be simpler. We're close to Gatwick Airport for international guests and easily reached from London. Our estate provides plenty of free parking, and the Wi-Fi extends throughout the grounds so no one misses sharing those special moments. Many couples book rooms in the main house for their wedding party, where each of our 58 rooms has been individually designed with those plush furnishings and spacious bathrooms that make getting ready part of the celebration. Between the ceremony and reception, your guests often wander through our gardens or gather at the 1608 Champagne Bar. Some even arrive by helicopter, touching down on our private helipad for an entrance no one forgets.
