The Terrace at Chaophraya Newcastle Our rooftop terrace has become the heart of celebrations across Newcastle, with Grey's Monument standing proud in your eyeline as you raise a glass to mark life's special moments. Artificial grass underfoot gives the space a garden party feel, while the city skyline reminds you you're dining above Eldon Square's bustling Grey's Quarter. We've watched countless parties unfold here, from 30th birthdays that spill into dancing under our string lights to engagement parties where the proposal story gets retold as the sun sets behind the monument. The space holds 50 seated guests comfortably, or we can arrange it for 80 standing if you prefer a more fluid, cocktail-style celebration. White chairs and tables dot the terrace, but we regularly reconfigure them based on what works for your event. The partially covered section means British weather rarely disrupts plans. We've hosted December birthday parties where guests stayed warm under heaters and blankets, cocktails in hand, city lights twinkling below.
