Rich mahogany panelling wraps around The Dark Room, where we've created an intimate sanctuary for private dining within our Glasgow restaurant. This space captures something special, with emerald-green leather banquettes that curve along the walls and our carefully restored chandeliers casting pools of warm light across polished wooden tables. We designed this room specifically for groups of up to 20 who want their own private corner of Chateau-X. The deep green leather and dark wood create a cocoon-like atmosphere that feels worlds away from Claremont Street, though you're still right in the heart of Finnieston. Our vintage-inspired wooden chairs pull up to tables arranged to encourage conversation, while the acoustics keep your discussions private even when the main restaurant buzzes with energy next door. The controlled lighting works particularly well for celebration dinners. We can adjust the chandelier dimming to match your mood, whether you're hosting a milestone birthday, anniversary dinner, or bringing together colleagues for a more relaxed evening than the boardroom allows. The room photographs beautifully too, with that interplay of shadow and light against the rich textures. Our kitchen serves the same dry-aged steaks and scratch-made dishes here as in the main restaurant, but the intimate scale means we can time courses perfectly for your group. The air conditioning keeps everyone comfortable year-round, and we've ensured wheelchair access throughout. Wi-Fi runs strong if anyone needs to share a presentation between courses, though most groups find themselves too engaged in conversation to check their phones.
