When the weekend crowd thins out and Monday rolls around, our Bar Area transforms into your own private corner of Birmingham history. This ground-floor space wraps around our original Victorian bar, where the same worn brass rail that supported UB40's elbows during their early days now welcomes your guests for drinks and conversation. The room holds up to 100 people comfortably, with that perfect pub flow between the main bar, our mix of high stools and booth seating, and the brick fireplace corner where people naturally gather. We've kept the bones of the 1852 building visible, the exposed brickwork and timber beams creating an atmosphere that feels both historic and fresh after our 2017 renovation. Your guests can move freely between inside and our covered outdoor area, particularly handy when the conversation gets animated or someone needs a breath of Birmingham air. The large street-facing windows flood the space with natural light during afternoon events, while evenings bring out the warm glow from our original gas lamp fittings converted to modern lighting. Our flatscreen TVs connect easily to laptops for presentations or photo slideshows, and the PA system that usually pumps out weekend beats is yours to use for speeches, background music, or whatever audio you need. The bar itself stays fully operational with our rotating taps and full spirits selection, though you're welcome to bring your own catering or work with our regular suppliers. Birthday parties work brilliantly here, as do informal company drinks, product launches, or any gathering where you want proper pub atmosphere without booking an entire venue. The space is fully wheelchair accessible from street level, with air conditioning keeping things comfortable and storage areas for coats and equipment tucked discretely away.
