The moment you step into our entire venue at Komedia, you're surrounded by the warmth of exposed brick walls and the sweep of our original Edwardian vaulted ceiling, preserved from when this Grade II listed building first opened as a cinema. We've hosted everything from raucous birthday parties to elegant wedding receptions in these spaces, and each event brings its own energy to our historic walls. Our Main Auditorium transforms brilliantly depending on your needs. Picture 615 of your guests mingling at a standing reception, cocktails in hand, while our colourful lighting system paints patterns across the curved ceiling. For seated celebrations, we can arrange cabaret-style tables for 200, perfect for anniversary parties or charity galas where you want people chatting over dinner. The theatre-style setup accommodates 300 on the main floor, with another 165 seats in our balcony - we've seen creative couples use this upper level for their wedding ceremony while the main floor hosted their reception. The Electric Bar downstairs offers a completely different vibe. Street food aromas mix with the buzz of conversation, and local craft beers flow freely. Many party hosts use this as their welcome space before leading guests upstairs, or keep it as a quieter zone where people can escape for proper conversations. Our technical setup handles whatever your celebration demands - from a live band's full sound requirements to a DJ spinning until the early hours. The acoustics, thanks to that magnificent ceiling, mean your first dance song or birthday speech carries beautifully to every corner.
