Welcome to The Lobby, our most distinguished event space that sits directly outside Courtroom 1. This remarkable room showcases the finest craftsmanship of the Middlesex Guildhall, with carved wooden panels bearing historic coats of arms and magnificent stained glass windows that transform daylight into a kaleidoscope of colours across the space. We've hosted countless celebrations here, from corporate receptions for 110 guests to intimate dinners for 60. The soaring ceilings and original wooden floors create an atmosphere that photographs beautifully, while our modern circular chandeliers cast warm light across the intricate woodwork when evening falls. During daytime events, natural light floods through the tall windows, highlighting the architectural details that make this space so memorable. The room adapts effortlessly to different layouts. For presentations and conferences, we arrange theatre-style seating for up to 90 guests, with our plasma screen and integrated sound system ensuring everyone can see and hear clearly. Corporate clients particularly appreciate how the microphone and speaker setup handles speeches without echo, despite the grand proportions of the room. When configured for seated dinners, round tables allow conversation to flow while guests admire the surrounding historic features. Our team at Zafferano creates menus that match the occasion, from champagne receptions with canapés to formal three-course dinners. They work seamlessly within this heritage setting, managing service through the original doorways and ensuring drinks stations don't obstruct the stunning architectural features. The Lobby connects easily to our other event spaces, allowing drinks here before dinner in another room.
