Our Front Dining Room sits on the first floor, where burgundy banquettes meet floral wallpaper and afternoon light streams through tall sash windows overlooking Motcomb Street's cobblestones. We've kept the original Georgian fireplace, which now anchors the room alongside deep green chairs pulled up to round and rectangular tables that seat twenty comfortably, or twenty-five when we clear the floor for drinks receptions. The bi-folding doors give you options, close them for complete privacy during birthday dinners or corporate presentations, or keep them ajar to let the gentle hum of the pub drift in. We've tucked a projector and flatscreen TV discreetly into the space for those who need them, though most evenings they stay hidden while candlelight reflects off the windows and conversation fills the room. Our kitchen sends up the same British and French dishes served throughout the building, Hereford beef tartare prepared tableside, roasted brill with Cornish mussels, seasonal vegetables from our regular suppliers. The bar team brings whatever you fancy, from champagne toasts to carefully mixed cocktails, and yes, we hold the proper licenses for it all. The room works particularly well for milestone celebrations, we've hosted 50th birthdays here, engagement parties, even small wedding receptions where guests spill onto our terrace when weather permits.
