The Engine Room holds court beneath Flora Indica's ground floor, where exposed Victorian brickwork meets warm teak paneling in what feels like the hull of a particularly stylish ship. We've kept the original vaulted ceilings and turned this lower ground space into something quite special for parties, complete with Harris tweed banquettes that run along the walls and a bar that stretches the full length of the room. Down here, we can accommodate 50 of your guests for a seated dinner or 80 for standing drinks and canapés. The steampunk touches, antique brass fixtures and botanical prints create plenty of conversation starters, while the intimate lighting keeps things warm and inviting. Those vintage curiosities displayed along the walls? They're genuine pieces we've collected, each telling part of the story of Scottish explorers in 19th-century India.
