The Ball Court sits on our rooftop, a proper outdoor playground wrapped in metal framework and protective netting. We painted the surface bright red and marked it up for basketball, football, and pretty much any sport you fancy throwing at it. The hoops are regulation height, the goals are solid, and that geometric mural wrapping around the walls? Local artists created it during a community project last summer. This is where Deptford comes to play. Corporate teams book it for five-a-side tournaments that get surprisingly competitive. Birthday parties turn into epic dodgeball battles. We've hosted everything from youth basketball clinics to sunset yoga sessions up here. The space holds 40 people comfortably for drinks receptions, though we've seen creative event planners transform it into an urban garden party venue with string lights and portable bars. Being on the rooftop means you get fresh air and views across SE8. The court catches the sun most of the day, and those high walls block the worst of the wind. We keep the sports equipment in good nick, and you're welcome to use whatever suits your event. The netting means nobody's chasing balls down New Cross Road, which your insurance company will appreciate. Getting here couldn't be easier. Deptford Station is a short walk away, and we're right in the thick of things on the high street. The building's golden exterior and glass frontage make us hard to miss. Once you're up on the court, the city noise fades just enough to let you focus on whatever game, party, or event you're running.
