The Courtyard (Marquee) transforms throughout the seasons here at the Naval and Military Club, offering something rather special right in St James's Square. When spring arrives, we open up this stone-paved courtyard where mature trees provide natural shade and the brick facades of our 1862 building create an intimate atmosphere that feels worlds away from central London, despite being just moments from Piccadilly Circus. Our wooden tables and chairs suit everything from summer garden parties to corporate drinks receptions, and we've strung lights overhead that catch beautifully in the evening. The space holds up to 160 for seated dinners or 100 for standing receptions, making it surprisingly spacious for a courtyard setting. Come autumn, we erect the marquee structure, maintaining that outdoor feel whilst keeping everyone comfortable, perfect for Christmas parties or winter weddings. We've hosted everything here from milestone birthdays to product launches, and the courtyard works particularly well for couples wanting an outdoor ceremony followed by dinner under the stars. The PA system handles speeches and background music, whilst our Wi-Fi keeps business events connected. Natural light floods the space during daytime functions, and those string lights and lanterns create quite the atmosphere once dusk falls.
