The Oak Suite welcomes up to 60 guests into one of Sheffield's most characterful wedding spaces. Original oak panelling wraps around the ground floor room, creating warmth that modern venues simply can't replicate. We've preserved these panels from the building's days as a 19th-century grammar school, and they provide a rich backdrop that photographs beautifully. Your guests enter along a red-carpet aisle, settling into chairs we dress in crisp white covers, each tied with fabric that catches the light from the large original windows. We arrange the room to draw everyone's focus to your ceremony area, where a simple table awaits, dressed with fresh greenery and candles. Many couples choose to add those illuminated "LOVE" letters behind the ceremony table, bringing a contemporary touch to the classical setting. Natural light pours through those heritage windows throughout the day, while we line the aisle with candles to add romance as evening approaches. The oak panels seem to glow in this light, creating an atmosphere our couples often describe as both intimate and grand. Being on the ground floor means elderly relatives won't struggle with stairs, and your photographer can make full use of the natural light for those crucial ceremony shots. After your vows, guests can flow directly into our lounge bar and onto the terrace, where Leopold Square's restaurants and bars create a buzzing backdrop for your drinks reception. The square itself offers endless photo opportunities, from the contemporary architecture to the intimate corners. Sheffield station sits just a short walk away, making arrivals straightforward for guests travelling from Manchester, Leeds, or London. We hold a full licence for civil ceremonies, handling all the administrative details while you focus on your day.
