The Second Floor Bar stretches across the entire top level of our Cardiff Central venue, where hanging baskets cascade from the ceiling beams and create natural green archways above the rustic wooden floors. We've designed this space to capture the energy of our botanical theme while giving you room to breathe, with windows running the length of the bar flooding your celebration with Welsh daylight. Walking up our staircase, you'll find the bar counter anchoring one end of the room, where our mixologists work their magic with botanical cocktails throughout your event. The shared bar arrangement means your guests mingle naturally with our regular patrons, creating that authentic Cardiff pub atmosphere that corporate parties and birthday celebrations particularly enjoy. Our events coordinator manages the flow of the evening, ensuring your buffet arrives hot and your drinks vouchers get distributed smoothly. We've hosted everything from intimate 40-person networking events to full-capacity wedding receptions with 90 guests moving freely between the bar stations and seating areas. The hire package includes your welcome drink, two drinks vouchers per person, and a buffet spread that features both our signature hanging kebabs and plant-based options. While the adjacent terrace remains open to the public, your guests often spill out there naturally, enjoying views across Church Street with a botanical cocktail in hand. The space works particularly well for Christmas parties when we deck the hanging baskets with subtle lighting, and summer corporate events when the evening sun streams through those windows. Student balls have become a regular fixture here too, with groups appreciating the central Cardiff location near the train station. We can adapt our standard packages to match your specific requirements, though Saturday bookings aren't available between April and August when our terrace season peaks.
