The Cambridge Room sits above our courtyard, where double-height windows flood the space with morning light that catches the crystal drops of our chandelier. We've watched countless celebrations unfold here, from golden anniversary dinners where twelve guests share stories around our polished mahogany table, to book launches where twenty people mingle between the floor-to-ceiling bookcases that line these walls. Those books aren't just for show, they're part of a working library that members have added to since Victorian times. The portrait collection watching over your gathering includes some rather distinguished naval officers, and yes, that imposing mirror above the marble fireplace is original to the room. We find the combination of scholarly atmosphere and social warmth works particularly well for milestone birthdays, where families appreciate both the gravitas and the intimacy. Our team configures the room to suit your plans, whether that's one grand table for a formal dinner or three rounds for a more relaxed celebration. The natural acoustics here are excellent, though we've discreetly added modern touches like climate control and a PA system for speeches. When evening falls, the room takes on a different character entirely, with the chandelier casting warm light across the polished surfaces while your guests enjoy drinks from our bar (we're licensed until 11pm). The lift makes access straightforward for all your guests, and we're just a short walk from both Piccadilly Circus and Green Park stations. Parking can be arranged nearby for those driving in. Our kitchen excels at celebration menus, from champagne receptions with canapés to full dinner service, all delivered with the quiet efficiency our members have come to expect over the decades.
