Behind the fridge door at 12-16 Artillery Lane lies The Mayor of Scaredy Cat Town, our underground cocktail den that turns every event into an adventure. Your guests will do a double-take when we guide them through what looks like an ordinary SMEG refrigerator, then watch their faces light up as they descend into our speakeasy below The Breakfast Club Spitalfields. The space wraps around you with exposed brick walls and that particular warmth you only find in proper basement bars. We've furnished it with vintage pieces and high tables that get people chatting, while our bartenders work their magic behind the bar. The lighting sets just the right mood, dim enough for intimacy but bright enough to see the surprise on everyone's faces when they realise where they are. We can fit 60 of your guests standing comfortably, perfect for cocktail parties where people want to move about and mingle. For seated dinners, we accommodate 40, with our eclectic artwork and retro touches creating plenty of conversation starters. The whole setup feels like a cross between a prohibition-era hideaway and your coolest friend's basement bar.
