The Darwin Room spreads across the ground floor of our Victorian hotel, its large windows drawing in plenty of natural light that plays across the rich green tablecloths we favour for special occasions. We've hosted everything from 70-guest cocktail receptions to more intimate sit-down dinners for 60 here, with round tables creating natural conversation spaces throughout. Our events team particularly enjoys working in this room because of its flexibility. The fitted dance floor adjusts to different sizes, so whether you're planning a lively wedding reception or prefer to maximise dining space for a birthday celebration, we can configure it perfectly. The private bar tucked into the corner means your guests won't need to leave the room for drinks, and our bartenders can craft everything from champagne toasts to signature cocktails right there. We've equipped the space with all the technical elements modern celebrations require: Wi-Fi throughout, a projector for those memorable photo montages, and a sound system that handles both background music during dinner and proper party volumes later on. The ground floor location with wheelchair access means all your guests can join the celebration comfortably, and our free on-site parking takes away one more thing to worry about. From our two-acre gardens, you can actually glimpse London's skyline, which makes for brilliant photo opportunities during drinks receptions. Many couples have their guests spill out onto the south-facing terraces during warmer months, creating a natural flow between indoor and outdoor spaces. Our kitchen team serves contemporary British and European dishes, working with local suppliers to accommodate any dietary requirements, from halal to vegan menus. After nearly 200 years of hosting celebrations, we know how to help create those moments that guests remember long after the evening ends.
