About St. Luke's Community Centre
Our three-desk private office sits within St Luke's Community Centre on 90 Central Street, where the hum of cooking classes from downstairs mingles with the quiet focus of charity workers typing away at their keyboards. We've carved out this workspace specifically for organizations who share our values—those working to make south Islington a better place for everyone. The office catches morning light through its windows, and you'll notice the original Victorian ceiling details that remind you this building has been serving the community for generations. We share the building with all sorts of activities—yoga classes in our studio spaces, community groups meeting in our various rooms, and locals learning to cook nutritious meals on a budget in our fully-equipped Cookery School below. The kitchen runs on donated produce that would otherwise go to waste, with every penny from external bookings funding more free classes for residents. Working here means being part of something bigger. Your team becomes part of a building that operates as a designated Safe Haven and actively participates in Dementia Friendly Islington. During breaks, you might wander out to our Edible Yard where volunteers tend vegetables, or grab lunch on the sunny terrace where community members often gather to chat. We're particularly keen to welcome charities and non-profit organizations who understand what it means to work alongside a bustling community hub. Old Street station is just a short walk away, making it easy for your team and visitors to reach you. The building offers both large and small meeting rooms when you need to expand beyond your office, plus studio spaces if your work involves bringing groups together. If you're looking for more than just desk space—if you want your daily work environment to reflect your organization's commitment to community—we'd love to show you around.
