The crumbling paint tells stories from 1826, when our Georgian chapel first opened its doors. We're Asylum Chapel, and yes, that's real history you're touching when you run your hand along our weathered walls. This Grade II listed building survived WWII bombing, and we've kept those battle scars - they're part of what makes couples gasp when they first walk in. Our stained glass windows catch the afternoon light differently every day. The original memorial plaques still line the walls, and we've paired them with romantic lighting that transforms the space as evening falls. The concrete floor we added gives you solid footing, while our modern toilet facilities mean you get heritage without the hassle. We hold up to 120 guests in our antique chapel seating - the same pews that have witnessed countless ceremonies over nearly two centuries. For weddings and civil ceremonies, we're fully licensed, though we're a ceremony-only venue. After your vows, we set up our five trestle tables for signing registers or serving drinks. Toast with champagne, enjoy canapés, but full meals happen elsewhere (our sister venue AMP Studios works perfectly for receptions). Beyond weddings, our worn textures and ethereal atmosphere draw photographers and filmmakers who need something real, not recreated. Theatre companies transform our space into stages, and artists hang exhibitions against our distressed walls. We welcome children and pets - they're part of your story, after all. You'll find us on Asylum Road in Peckham, just a short walk from Queens Road Peckham station. When you book, the entire chapel becomes yours exclusively.
