The moment you step through our doors at Balthazar in Covent Garden, you're transported straight to a French brasserie—complete with antique timber floors that creak just right and vintage wall sconces casting warm light across the room. We've made our home in the historic Flower Cellars building, right on the corner of Russell and Wellington Streets, practically next door to The Royal Opera House. Our kitchen serves up proper French classics from morning till night, seven days a week. You'll find us plating duck confit with perfectly crispy skin, ladling rich French onion soup, and arranging escargots in their shells. The weekend brunch has become something of a local institution, while our Boulangerie next door fills the air with the scent of fresh-baked artisan breads and pastries. For private celebrations, we've carved out two distinct spaces from the main restaurant. Le Grand Salon Privé welcomes up to 60 guests for seated dinners or 80 for cocktail parties, while Le Petit Salon Privé creates a more intimate atmosphere for groups of 24 seated or 40 standing. Both rooms feature their own private bars topped with original pewter—perfect for keeping the champagne flowing without missing a beat of conversation. We've hosted everything from milestone birthday dinners where guests linger over steak frites and good wine, to corporate cocktail receptions that spill naturally between our vintage-lit corners. The same careful attention that goes into our moules frites and roasted lamb extends to every private event we host. Our team works closely with each party to craft menus that suit the occasion, whether that's canapés and cocktails or a full French feast complete with afternoon tea service.
