We took over St Mary's Church House and transformed it into Bill's Reading, where Georgian windows frame your dining experience and original architectural details create conversation at every table. Our kitchen serves breakfast through to dinner, with the sticky duck salad becoming something of a local legend alongside our Mediterranean tuna steak. The main dining room flows between comfortable booths bathed in warm lighting, while our outdoor terrace catches the afternoon sun perfectly for cocktails and casual meals. Your four-legged friends receive their own welcome here - we keep special treats behind the bar and water bowls ready throughout the restaurant. Our chefs prepare everything from hearty full English breakfasts to evening meals, with dedicated vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free menus that go well beyond the usual token options. The all-day service means you can pop in for morning coffee and pastries or settle in for a proper dinner. For private dining, we have two rooms upstairs that work brilliantly for different occasions. The smaller space holds 15 people seated comfortably for intimate birthday dinners or business meetings, while our larger room accommodates up to 50 seated guests or 70 standing for drinks receptions. Both rooms maintain the character of the original church house with their high ceilings and period features. We regularly host team lunches, family celebrations, and networking events, with our kitchen creating bespoke menus to match your event.
