Paul Fisher knew what he was doing when he built this place in 1747. Walking through our doors, you feel the weight of centuries – in the best possible way. The Georgian rooms have kept their soul while gaining all the bits that make modern events actually work. John Addington Symonds wrote some of his best work here, and honestly, we think the creative atmosphere stuck around. Our print gallery catches the morning light beautifully, the reception rooms have that perfect formal-but-not-stuffy feel, and the gardens... well, those tulip trees are older than most of Bristol and still showing off every spring. We've kitted out the spaces properly – screens and projectors that connect first time, climate control that keeps everyone comfortable, acoustics that mean your presenter won't need to shout. The foyer works brilliantly for registration or coffee breaks, with natural flow into the main rooms. Training days, board meetings, product launches – they all take on a different quality here. Maybe it's the proportions of the rooms, maybe it's the views over Clifton, or maybe it's just that sense of being somewhere with genuine character.
