About Floating Garden
Four garden decks stretch across this converted barge on Regent's Canal, where we've created something rather special near Granary Square. The Floating Garden started life as a cinema boat before we transformed it into this green oasis using recycled materials and a lot of imagination from the young people who helped design it. From our mooring point just off the towpath at Goods Way, you'll find us easily accessible from King's Cross. We're particularly proud of how the space works - our interior classroom opens onto the planted decks, where herbs, wildflowers and vegetables grow in raised beds. The canal water laps gently against the hull while you're surrounded by greenery, creating this peaceful pocket right in N1. When we're not running our community programs, we open the barge for private parties and events. The space works brilliantly for supper clubs - imagine your guests dining among the plants with canal views as their backdrop. We've hosted everything from birthday celebrations to engagement parties here. The indoor area seats 12 comfortably, though we can accommodate 24 standing across the whole vessel. Our kitchen comes equipped for basic catering prep, and you're welcome to bring in your own caterers. We also operate a BYO alcohol policy with some guidelines we'll share when you book. The projector and flip chart might seem odd for a party space, but we've seen them used creatively for wedding slideshows and birthday tributes. Wi-Fi keeps everyone connected if needed. One thing to note - we stay moored throughout your event. While the barge doesn't cruise, there's something quite special about celebrating on the water, watching canal life drift by while your party unfolds in this floating garden setting.
