About Frankenstein's Edinburgh
Three floors of gothic madness await you at Frankenstein's Edinburgh, where we've transformed a 19th-century church on George IV Bridge into something truly extraordinary. Our eight-foot-tall animatronic monster drops from the ceiling during our famous light and sound shows - it gets people every time, especially when the plasma lights crackle and our lightning rods spark to life around the steampunk laboratory décor. We run the place differently depending on when you visit. During the day, our main bar serves as a dining space, but come evening, we clear the tables and it becomes a proper dance floor with our resident DJs spinning until late. Head up to our mezzanine level if you want something more relaxed - you can watch all the action below while having a conversation without shouting. Down in the basement, we've created the Bier Keller, our German beer hall where groups squeeze onto long communal benches and we serve proper steins of draft beer. Throughout the week, we host live music every Thursday, run pub quizzes that get surprisingly competitive, and our karaoke nights draw quite the crowd. For private events, we can accommodate anywhere from 40 to 300 guests across our different spaces. Corporate groups book us for team events, we see plenty of stag and hen parties, and birthday celebrations are always popular. The Bier Keller works brilliantly for groups wanting their own space - it fits 40 to 200 people comfortably with its own private bar. You'll find us right in Edinburgh's Old Town, just a short walk from the Royal Mile.
