About Gusto Italian Oxford
The old Mitre Pub on High Street has been transformed into something special at Gusto Italian Oxford. We've kept the building's historic character while creating a proper Italian restaurant that feels both grand and welcoming. Our main dining room seats 170 people, and you can watch our chefs at work through the open Theatre Kitchen - it's quite the show during busy service. We're particularly proud of our private dining room upstairs. It holds up to 55 guests and works brilliantly for birthday parties, corporate celebrations, or any gathering where you want your own space. The room has its own atmosphere while still feeling connected to the energy of the restaurant below. Our Pizza Experience has become quite popular for groups of six to ten. We bring you into the kitchen where our chefs teach you to make your own pizzas and cannoli. You'll have fizz on arrival and enjoy a four-course Italian meal alongside what you've created. It's hands-on, a bit messy, and always good fun - perfect for team events or birthday parties. The cocktail lounge and bar area works well for pre-dinner drinks or if you're just popping in for aperitivo. We've planted olive trees throughout the space and kept the lighting warm - it helps create that Italian feel we're after. Our wine list features 50 Italian bottles we've personally selected, from everyday drinking wines to special occasion bottles. Whether you're booking the private room for a milestone birthday, organizing a corporate dinner in the main restaurant, or bringing friends for the pizza-making experience, we've got the space and flexibility to make it work. Being right in the center of Oxford, just steps from the Radcliffe Camera, makes us easy to find for your guests too.
