Every morning when we arrive at IWM London, the sight of the Spitfire suspended in our Atrium still takes our breath away. This Grade II-listed building transforms from a contemplative museum by day into an extraordinary venue after hours, where your guests can dine beneath iconic aircraft including that Battle of Britain Spitfire and a towering German V2 rocket. Our Foster + Partners-designed Atrium serves as the heart of most evening events. We can accommodate 400 guests for standing receptions here, with the aircraft creating natural conversation points throughout the space. For seated dinners, we configure the room for 300, or 250 if you're planning dinner and dancing. The acoustics work beautifully – voices carry just enough to create energy without overwhelming conversation. Above the main floor, our contemporary Roof Terrace offers something completely different. Suspended over the Atrium with its dramatic glass ceiling and walls, this space gives your guests spectacular views while maintaining an intimate atmosphere. We regularly host up to 240 people here for receptions and presentations, and the contrast between the modern architecture and historic exhibits below creates a memorable setting. For board meetings and smaller dinners, our Orpen Boardroom provides a more traditional environment. Sir William Orpen's artworks line the walls, and we can seat up to 50 for formal dinners here. The Park View Room offers flexibility for groups up to 100, with natural light and adaptable layouts. Our catering team sources ingredients locally and can create menus ranging from working lunches to elaborate dinner parties. We handle conferences, corporate receptions, product launches, and private celebrations regularly, so we understand the logistics of different event types. Getting here is straightforward – we're a short walk from both Lambeth North and Waterloo stations in central London, with plenty of transport options for your guests.
