The Director's Room sits within our Georgian portico, where morning light streams through tall windows onto polished tables set with crisp linens. We've found this space works particularly well for breakfast meetings and intimate lunches, with its park views creating a calm backdrop that helps conversation flow naturally. The room accommodates 20 guests theatre-style or 14 around our boardroom table, though we often arrange it for smaller dining groups who appreciate the privacy. Fresh flowers in soft pinks and creams complement the classical proportions of the space, and the natural daylight means you won't need harsh overhead lighting during daytime events. What makes dining here special is the contrast with the main museum spaces. While your guests might arrive through our dramatic Atrium with its suspended Spitfire and V2 rocket, the Director's Room offers something quieter, more contemplative. It's this shift in atmosphere that our regular clients particularly value, moving from the grand scale of aviation history to a more personal setting. Our kitchen team prepares the same locally-sourced menus here as in our larger spaces, but the intimate scale allows for more detailed service. We've hosted everything from working breakfasts where deals get done over coffee and pastries, to celebration lunches where small groups mark significant moments away from the bustle of central London. The Georgian architecture provides excellent acoustics for conversation, and the park views change with the seasons, offering different perspectives throughout the year. Being just a short walk from both Lambeth North and Waterloo stations means your guests can easily reach us, then step into this quieter corner of our building where the pace slows and meaningful conversations happen over good food.
