About Liverpool Cathedral
The moment you step through our doors at Liverpool Cathedral, you're walking into Britain's largest cathedral—a space that took 74 years to complete and finally opened in 1978. We've been hosting meetings and conferences here ever since, and there's something quite special about conducting business beneath our soaring neo-Gothic arches. Our Main Space can accommodate up to 2,000 people, though we find it works beautifully for large conferences and corporate presentations where you want to make an impression. The acoustics are extraordinary—your keynote speakers won't need to strain to be heard. For more focused meetings, we recommend The Well, which holds up to 320 attendees and offers stunning views of our High Altar. The natural light streaming through the windows creates an atmosphere that keeps people engaged throughout long conference days. The Lady Chapel, our oldest section, has become particularly popular for board meetings and executive presentations. With its private entrance and capacity for 250 guests, it provides both privacy and grandeur. The stained glass windows date back to our earliest construction, and they cast remarkable patterns of light across the room during afternoon sessions. For traditional meeting room setups, our Sir Giles Gilbert Scott Suite offers oak-paneled rooms equipped with all the modern AV facilities you'd expect—projectors, screens, microphones, and reliable WiFi throughout. These rooms work perfectly for breakout sessions, training workshops, or smaller departmental meetings. Our Welsford Bistro Team handles all the catering in-house, from working lunches to formal dining. They prepare everything fresh daily, and we can arrange anything from coffee and pastries for morning meetings to full three-course dinners for evening events.
