The original railway hotel from 1844 sits right across from Reading Station, and we've kept that heritage alive in every corner of our building. We've got 76 rooms and suites throughout the property, each fitted with en-suite bathrooms and proper bedding. The Chez Mal Brasserie & Bar serves British fusion dishes if you're planning a working lunch or dinner, and room service runs around the clock when you need to keep discussions going over food. Our meeting rooms come with complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi as standard, and we've set up a private dining room that works well for board meetings or client entertaining. The proximity to Reading Station means your attendees can get here easily - it's literally a minute's walk from the platform. We handle various corporate events here at Malmaison Reading, from training sessions and presentations to product launches and networking events. The spaces flex to suit different setups, whether you need theatre-style seating, boardroom configurations, or cocktail reception layouts. Starting October 9, 2024, we're moving to card and digital payments only - no cash transactions. This streamlines check-in and checkout for business travelers and makes expense reporting simpler for corporate bookings. The building itself creates an interesting backdrop for meetings, with original Victorian features mixed with our current furnishings. The dishes weren't that clean, the front of house reception service wasn't that polite, the room was ubearably cold, they advertised to fit 15 in but it was uncomfortably small.
