About My Studio Hire
Our photography studio at My Studio Hire spans 865 square feet of working space, with those original 18-foot ceilings that photographers love for the creative freedom they provide. We opened in 2020 at 23 Chestnut Grove in South London, transforming this period building into a fully equipped creative workspace while keeping the character that makes shooting here special. The windows here are generous – they run along the main wall and give us natural light that changes beautifully throughout the day. We've installed proper blackout facilities for when you need complete light control. Our mezzanine level adds extra dimension to shoots, whether you're using it for different angles or as a client viewing area. We keep multiple full-sized 2.72m Colorama backdrops ready to go – Arctic White, Black, and Storm Grey are always available, plus we have a green screen for those specific projects. The studio comes with everything you'd expect: professional Jiffy steamer, clothes rail with hangers, C-stands, sandbags, reflectors, polyboards with stands, and both vanity and full-length mirrors. We've also set up a Samsung M7 27-inch monitor for instant image review, connected to our super-fast fibre broadband. Between shots, there's always fresh tea and coffee brewing, plus biscuits on hand. We've added a Bluetooth speaker that connects to an iPad with Spotify if you want to set the mood. The multipurpose trolley and trestle table help keep everything organized during busy shoots. Getting here is straightforward – we're a short walk from Balham station, making it easy whether you're bringing equipment from central London or arriving from further out. Our regular hours run Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm, though we can arrange evening and weekend bookings when needed. We offer a 10% discount for students and AoP members.
