The Royal West of England Academy has been showcasing world-class visual art since 1844, and we're thrilled to open our doors for your special events. Our Grade II* listed building recently underwent a £4.5 million transformation, creating an extraordinary backdrop for dining experiences, meetings, and celebrations of all kinds. Step through our historic entrance and you'll find yourself surrounded by the same galleries that have displayed works by Turner, Constable, Nash, and Grayson Perry. Natural light floods through our 19th-century spaces, illuminating both the art and your guests as they move between our rooms. The grand marble staircase leads to our first-floor landing, where the breath-taking atrium creates a real sense of occasion. From here, guests can step onto our west-facing balcony - particularly magical during evening events when the Clifton sunset provides its own artistic display. We can accommodate everything from intimate dinner parties of 20 to grand receptions for up to 200 guests. Our experienced events team handles all the details, from our in-house bar service to coordinating with award-winning caterers like Papadeli. The entire building is fully wheelchair accessible through our spacious lift, and we're proud to offer a fully equipped Changing Places facility. Evening hire gives you exclusive use of our galleries while maintaining the atmosphere of a working art space. For complete privacy, we also offer full-day hire on Mondays when we're closed to the public. Your dedicated Events Manager will guide you through every stage of planning, whether you're organizing a corporate meeting, hosting a wedding reception, or throwing a celebration dinner.
