That shark head mounted on our wall gets everyone talking – it's become our unofficial mascot here at Simmons Bar Angel. We're right on Essex Road, just a quick walk from Angel station, and you can't miss our bright yellow and white storefront at number 43. Our space feels like someone's thrown together their favorite bits from different decades and somehow made it all work. The music bounces between eras too, keeping things interesting whether you're here for after-work drinks or celebrating something special. We can fit up to 90 people when you take over the whole place, which works brilliantly for birthday parties, leaving dos, or those office celebrations that need something a bit different from the usual pub booking. The real draw for most people is our Happy Hour – we run it from 4pm to 9pm Sunday through Friday. During those hours, we do 2-for-1 on all our cocktails, plus you can get single spirit mixers for £2.50, beers for £3, and wine by the glass for the same price. Saturdays are slightly different – we still do the 2-for-1 cocktails but we also serve cocktail teapots for £15, which always get the party started. Our bartenders know their stuff and genuinely enjoy making drinks – they're happy to recommend something if you're not sure what you fancy. When you book the whole venue for your event, they'll be there making sure everyone's glass stays full and the atmosphere stays lively. We've hosted everything from 30th birthdays to team nights out, and each party brings its own energy to the space. The quirky decor gives people plenty to chat about, especially that shark, and the layout works well for mingling or dancing as the night goes on.
