About Slug & Lettuce Aldgate
Fridays at Slug & Lettuce Aldgate are my favourite shift. I'm behind the bar watching City workers transform from spreadsheet warriors to cocktail enthusiasts, and our birdcage booths fill up with birthday groups and date nights. We're right between three tube stations, so everyone can get here easily after work. The space itself hits different from your average chain bar. Those semi-private areas at the back? Perfect when your team wants to celebrate without shouting over music. We've got proper AV setup with screens for presentations (yes, people actually do PowerPoints over prosecco), and the kitchen stays open late so nobody's drinking on an empty stomach. Our events coordinator is brilliant at working with groups—whether it's 20 people for leaving drinks or 100 for a Christmas party. The cocktail menu changes seasonally, but the espresso martinis are consistently dangerous. Fair warning. What sets us apart from other Aldgate spots is probably the flexibility. Smart enough for client entertainment, relaxed enough for birthdays, equipped enough for corporate stuff.
