Spanish City stands proudly on Whitley Bay's seafront, where the sound of waves mingles with the buzz of conversation from our restaurants and event spaces. Since our grand reopening in 2018, following careful restoration of this 1910 landmark, we've welcomed thousands of guests through our doors for everything from boardroom meetings to seaside weddings. Our venue houses five distinct dining experiences. Trenchers, our fish and chip restaurant, earned the title of Best Fish and Chip Restaurant in the UK in 2020 - quite the achievement we're proud of. For those seeking refined dining, 1910 Steak & Seafood serves premium cuts and fresh catches in an elegant setting. Valerie's Tearoom brings traditional afternoon tea to life with homemade scones and delicate sandwiches, while The Champagne Bar offers bubbles with a view - on clear days, you can see all the way to St Mary's Island. Our Waffle & Pancake House satisfies sweet cravings throughout the day. When it comes to events, we accommodate everything from intimate board meetings for two to grand celebrations for up to 1,000 guests.
