About The Brigade Bar + Kitchen
The old Victorian fire station on Tooley Street has been serving our community in a whole new way since we transformed it into The Brigade Bar + Kitchen. Our wood-paneled dining room still carries echoes of its firefighting past—the exposed brickwork and original features remind guests daily that this building has always been about helping people. We've built our reputation on live-fire cooking, with our open kitchen putting on quite the show. Our chefs work with seasonal British produce to create dishes like tempura cauliflower with teriyaki glaze and aged Hereford sirloin with truffle mayonnaise. The bar team crafts cocktails that tell our story too—try the "Firefighter" for a taste of our heritage. When it comes to hosting meetings and celebrations, we offer several distinct spaces. The main restaurant welcomes up to 150 guests for drinks receptions or seats 75 for formal dinners. For smaller gatherings, The Gallery provides a semi-private setting for 16 seated or 25 standing guests. Book lovers gravitate toward The Library, where eight people can meet surrounded by our cookbook collection. Our brightest space, the Covent Garden Room, floods with natural light through floor-to-ceiling windows and accommodates 40 people theatre-style—perfect for presentations and conferences. Every booking includes Wi-Fi access and our full catering services. What makes hosting events here truly meaningful is knowing you're supporting our partnership with the Beyond Food Foundation. We train apprentices who've experienced homelessness, giving them professional hospitality skills and real employment opportunities. Your meeting or party directly funds these life-changing apprenticeships. Whether you're planning a board meeting, team celebration, or private dinner, our spaces adapt to your needs while contributing to our social mission.
