About The Castlefield Rooms
Three floors above the Bridgewater Canal, our windows frame the boats gliding past while natural light floods every corner of The Castlefield Rooms. We're right in Manchester's historic Castlefield district, where industrial heritage meets contemporary design throughout our three distinct event spaces. The Merchant Room is our largest space, where floor-to-ceiling windows create a bright, airy atmosphere overlooking the canal. We can host up to 170 guests here for ceremonies, seat 140 for wedding breakfasts, or welcome 220 for drinks receptions. The room's contemporary design provides a blank canvas that works beautifully for both corporate conferences and elegant wedding celebrations. Our Brindley Room tells a different story – the original loft-style beams from its days as a carpenter's workshop create an intimate atmosphere that our couples particularly love. We can accommodate ceremonies for up to 100 guests here, or receptions for 120. When you need more space, we often open up both The Merchant and Brindley rooms together, creating one flowing venue for larger gatherings. The Gallery Bar and Balcony sits on the mezzanine level within Dukes 92, recently refurbished to provide a modern setting for smaller meetings and receptions. Step onto the external balcony and you'll see why guests love this space – the views stretch across the bustling forecourt and Castlefield Basin below. Our chefs from Albert's Shed restaurant create all the menus here, whether you're planning a formal wedding breakfast, working lunch, or cocktail reception. We handle the full event planning service, and with our civil ceremony license, couples can say their vows and celebrate all in one location. Getting here is straightforward with tram and train links minutes away, plus we provide complimentary parking on-site for all your guests.
