About The National Archives
The National Archives sits right by the Thames at Kew, and we've built something special here for meetings and conferences. Our Events Auditorium opened in 2016 and has become the heart of our venue hire offering - it seats 150 people theatre-style and we've equipped it with everything you'd expect: a 5-metre screen, ceiling-mounted projector, wireless microphones, and full audio recording capabilities. Next door, we have the Learning Room which works brilliantly for smaller meetings or breakout sessions. The entire wall is writable - our clients love using it for brainstorming sessions and strategic planning. This room has its own wall-mounted screen and projector, and when we open up both spaces together, we can accommodate 250 people for larger conferences or networking events. What makes us different from other meeting venues is our setting. We're surrounded by landscaped grounds with two lakes complete with fountains, and plenty of green space. The Pocket Park area is particularly popular - it's a large grassed area where we can set up marquees for summer conferences or outdoor team building activities. Many clients book their main conference in the Auditorium, then move outside for lunch or evening receptions. We handle all kinds of professional events here - from academic conferences and government workshops to corporate training days and AGMs. The combination of our modern facilities and peaceful riverside location seems to help people think more clearly. Plus, being The National Archives, there's always the option to incorporate a tour of our exhibitions or document displays into your event programme. Our technical team supports you throughout your booking, ensuring all the AV equipment runs smoothly and your presentations display perfectly on our screens.
