About The Salutation Pub
We've been pouring pints at The Salutation since the 1820s, making us one of Manchester's oldest surviving pubs. You'll find us tucked between the SODA building and The Union on Boundary Street West, where our original 1840s features still catch the eye of everyone who walks through our doors. Our partnership with Bollington Brewing Co. means we keep their full range on tap - from the smooth 'Best' golden bitter to the hoppy 'Eastern Nights' IPA. Behind the bar, you'll spot 'White Nancy' pale ale, 'Oat Mill Stout', and 'Long Hop' alongside craft beers and ciders from around the world. We serve proper pub food too, the kind that pairs perfectly with a pint. Our function room upstairs transforms for whatever you need. We've hosted everything from corporate presentations using our projector and screen setup to birthday parties that spill out into our hidden beer garden. The Bluetooth sound system means you can control the atmosphere, whether that's background music for networking or party playlists that get everyone moving. Throughout the week, The Sal comes alive with different crowds. Monday brings our folk musicians who fill the place with traditional tunes. First Tuesday of the month, we host Bunker Talks for those curious minds. Thursday's Speed Quizzing gets competitive (in the best way), and the last Friday sees our open mic night where locals share their talents. For meetings, our function space offers privacy away from the main bar buzz. The projector makes presentations straightforward, and we can arrange seating however works best - boardroom style or casual clusters. Party bookings love the flexibility of having both indoor and outdoor space, especially when they discover that "hidden" beer garden we mentioned.
