The old textile mill's brick walls have witnessed countless celebrations since we transformed this Northern Quarter gem into The Whiskey Jar. Our basement event space has become the go-to spot for Manchester parties, where the original mill features create an atmosphere you won't find in modern venues. Down in our basement, we've installed a fully equipped bar that keeps your drinks flowing throughout the night. The sound system we've put in rivals any club setup, complete with professional DJ equipment for when you want to bring your own music or hire one of our recommended DJs. We've arranged comfortable seating areas where guests can catch up between dancing, though most parties end up using the entire floor space once things get going. Our collection of over 350 whiskies from Scotland, Ireland, Japan, India, France and the US means we can create signature cocktails for your event or offer tasting experiences as part of the celebration. The basement's private bar stocks everything from these rare whiskies to crowd-pleasing beers and wines. The space works brilliantly for birthday parties, engagement celebrations, corporate events, and even wedding receptions. We've hosted everything from intimate gatherings of 30 to packed parties of 150. The exposed brickwork and industrial features mean you need minimal decoration - the venue itself provides the character. Every Tuesday and Wednesday, our upstairs bar hosts open mic nights, while weekends bring local cover bands. If you're planning a party on these nights, your guests can flow between the private basement and the lively atmosphere upstairs. Our "Whisky Experience" sessions run every other Sunday, perfect for smaller celebration groups wanting guided tastings and cocktail masterclasses.
