Red brick walls and the sound of the River Wandle set the scene at The William Morris Pub, where we've created the perfect party space in historic Merton Abbey Mills. Our upstairs function room opens directly onto a private terrace that overlooks the water – your guests love stepping out for fresh air between dancing and catching up with friends. We've hosted everything from 30th birthdays to corporate celebrations in this space, which comfortably holds up to 80 people. The room has its own bar, so your party stays private while our team keeps drinks flowing. During summer parties, guests spill out onto the balcony with their drinks, and in winter, we light up the space with warm lighting that bounces off those original brick walls. Downstairs, we run weekly quiz nights and live music that you might hear drifting up – though your party playlist will take priority in the function room. Our kitchen sends up sharing platters, Wagyu beef burgers, or whatever menu you've arranged. Sunday celebrations often feature our roast dinners, which work brilliantly for family gatherings. Three outdoor areas mean smokers and fresh-air seekers have plenty of space, including our heated pergola that keeps the party going even when it's chilly. We show major sports events on the big screen downstairs if some of your guests want to catch the match during your event. Dogs are welcome throughout the pub, so your four-legged friends can join celebrations too. Monthly karaoke nights have taught us a thing or two about sound systems – yours will work perfectly whether you're giving speeches or getting everyone on the dancefloor.
