About Wandsworth Civic Suite
The moment you step into Wandsworth Civic Suite, you're transported to an era of marble fixtures and 1930s chandeliers that still catch the light just right. We're housed in a Grade II-listed building right next to Wandsworth Town Hall, and those portraits of former mayors watching over the grand staircase never fail to make an impression on wedding guests. Our venue consists of two main interconnected function rooms that work beautifully for weddings and celebrations. The Civic Hall is where most ceremonies happen - it's our largest space with capacity for 280 guests seated, featuring original sprung maplewood flooring and wood-panelled walls. The raised stage with full-length red velvet curtains creates a natural focal point, whether you're saying your vows or having your first dance. When you need more room, we open up the adjoining Banquet Suite, which seats another 250 guests and works perfectly for your wedding breakfast or evening reception. What makes us different is that we're a dry hire venue, meaning you bring in your own caterers and bar - no corkage fees, complete freedom to serve what you want. The fully equipped kitchen connects directly to the Banquet Suite, and most couples use the Twyford Room as their bar area. Our Robing Room downstairs gives you a private, lockable space for getting ready or touching up makeup between the ceremony and reception. We're licensed for civil marriages and partnerships, and our state-of-the-art lighting system lets you transform the space from daylight ceremony to evening party atmosphere. The wooden floors mean you don't need to hire a separate dancefloor unless you want one. Parking opens up after 5pm on weekdays and runs all day at weekends, which your evening guests always appreciate.
